Default Would You Consider Fishing America?

I'm curious as to the number of members on this UK forum who have entertained the idea of trying out the fishing opportunities in America. If you are planning, might plan, or have already visited the states what was it that made you want to go?

Ard, perhaps because a few of us have said: "Get here and your all in, save for the fishing license?''

Have an open invitation to several Folks, and several have taken me up on the offer. Only 'issue' has been taking a couple of Folks over to a large empty parking lot and getting them used to driving on the 'proper side' of the road.

Tongue in cheek there, but the first time I had to get used to the opposite was a 'Holy .....' Actually had stuck a note in the steering wheel of the car with 'directions;' You Ain't In Kansas any more Dorthy'

Hello ard, i am sorry to say at this time it would not be a country i would consider, for a start it it much harder to gain entrance to the usa because of goverment policy, too many stories of stolen gear from airports, and where i wanted to fish a few years ago in colorado state you could not fish with paying a guide. to some this maybe a normal thing when fishing in the usa. if you know an area i could visit and trout fish without all this i would be happy to do,

I fish the US fairly regularly. I spent time fishing from West Yellowstone in Montana, and in recent years have fished Cape Cod and Florida.

Due to the cost of a trip? Granted it would be 'expensive' and would have more than just an 'in and out' to make it viable. But other reasons than that?

Absolutely, well i mean i would return that is, might try Oregon next time, but had 2 weeks in Montana solid fishing and also fished briefly in Wyoming and Colorado.
Just the air flights are so expensive.
But i plan on going back within the next couple of years.
Cheers

Oh yes, I would. Your region is one of my dream destinations, Ard. And I wouldn't say no to a steelhead tuition by the famous Fredaevans, either.

Regards,
Johan
