Off to Paphos next week....I know you can fish the reservoirs....anyone any info on fly or spinning in or around Paphos harbour?

I was just north of Paphos end of last year. You regularly see a number of the locals fishing the harbour with a long pole (15'), bread and bobbers. All pretty close in stuff and I have to say I didn't see anyone pull anything substantial out, just small 4-6" sprats.
My understanding of the quality of the sea fishing close to shore is pretty poor.
I did pack a travel rod and managed to visit a local dam (Mavrokolymbos) to wet a fly line, I didn't see anything moving but it was an excuse to escape all the oestrogen.

I live just outside Paphos , the harbour at Paphos can produce the odd mullet on treble hook festooned bread roll but they are few and far between.
The sea fishing is dire but the dam fishing can be good , Mavrokolymbos near Coral bay was stocked last year with roach and carp and i added a few pumpkinseed as well,there are no bass at present in it, this is a good dam for coarse fishing as the access is good and the water is not full of gorse bushes ! sweetcorn is the best bait with trout pellet paste in the feeder, pellets are sold at the tackle shops.
My local dams are Evretou (all species ) and Kannaviou (trout , pumpkinseed and a few bass) I am happy to advise anyone on fishing the dams with up todate info, my tel is 00357 99670202

For Willow.....away from the harbour, if you are on the south side of Paphos....promenade continues as a public footpath down for about 2 miles, past back of all the hotels. Lots of rocky places and mini breakwaters, many locals fishing with poles, catching 6-9" fish. I found the water too shallow/rocky for my spinning tackle but if you have a bait rod.....

i was at paphos last september fished quite alot the locals catch small bream on paste or bread there isnt many big fish to be caught i dont think what did work for me was 4lb line bubble float with 2 droppers and small hooks cant remember the size with bread as bait caught 3 salpa or something like that tryed plugs on the last day and caught a small barracuda about 4lb
