Default Loch Tay help

Hi,
Off to loch tay for the day tomorrow for first time and looking for any hot spots to try, apologies first (not fly fishing) just spinning mainly and some bait fishing. Any advice on areas, spinners etc, looks quite a big water with a few no fishing zones. Would be ideal to find a short walk to water as my old man is not as mobile as he used to be

Are there sea trout and what works best for them?

Thanks in advance
Baldy

Will be absolutely no sea trout!
Salmon fishing is usually done by trolling from boat, two to four rods out with kynochs/rappalas/big spoons on end. fish very close to banks at west end of loch.
get boat here.

Fishing In Loch Tay - Loch Tay Highland Lodges - Perthshire, Scotland

boat will have outboard and cuddy (fibreglass shelter on bow). make sure permit is for west end, as is best, and your dad wont have to walk at all!

aint really many places to fish from bank close to roads!
regards
bert

Cheers Bert, Probably hitting the banks and fishing for broonies, will try and hit the west if access is possible.

Thanks again

Looking to find out where you can get permits for fly fishing this loch from the shore? Any help (or tips) greatly appreciated

Free the bees your best bet would be kenmore post offfice or cruachan campsite to name a couple of places especially if you are coming in from the aberfeldy side.

baldyeagle there are a number of places in killin you can arrange for a permit, the newsagents in the main street and the fishers hotel are a couple but most of the larger hotels do permits alternatively you could also try cruachan campsite along the north side.

hope this helps and tightlines to you both.

chris
