Hi mate,
I see you are searching for some advice about fishing in Iceland.
What kind of info are you looking for ?
If you tell me a little bit more about the rivers you are fishing maybe i can assist you a little bit more.
There are two "svartá rivers" in Iceland, one is Svartá in Bárðardalur and the other one is the upper part of húseyjarkvísl, both rather fast so you often need to get the flie down.
Laxa means, a salmon river, and we've got a lot of them. If you are going to fish laxa in aðaldalur/myvatnssveit then you are in the brown trout mecca !
Good size, picturesque scenary and fantastic fishing.
The fishing culture in Iceland is rather simple, most icelanders are using big flies, streamers and nymphs. The best method for fishing is nymphing upstream and dryflying (sizes 12-22).
Reykjadalsá there you will be catching as many as you desire. They are not the biggest but they are litterally everywhere and a they are a bit bigger in the lower beats.
I'm a local so feel free to contact me for any info.
