The Miramichi remains one of the great salmon rivers, even though 2010 fell victim to low water levels. Some sections were closed or reduced to catch and release. The latter poses a problem in itself, as the fish - played too long - suffocate from lack of oxygen. No problem with oxygen in spring, (the Miramichi season opens on April 15th). Lots of water flows and an action fishery from skiffs, canoes and boats. Keep in mind you'll be fishing for kelts - great action guaranteed.
