I should point out that
Gwynedd has only one letter
'n' whether Welsh or anglicized.
Gruffudd ap Llywelyn was imprisoned in the 'castle of Cruceith' (Middle Welsh orthography
Kastell Krukeith. The earliest written reference, in a 14th century poem. Thought to come from 'Crug Caeth'; as caeth could mean 'prisoner' the name would mean prisoner's rock.
Llwyngwril is in the old county of Meirionydd and is a fair journey from the south Carnarvonshire town of Criccieth.
Hawker may I suggest some winter boat fishing in the seas off Aberdyfi instead?
