Default Rutland & Grafham??

After a long season ghilling on the river ness, I will be hanging up the plus two's and bunnet on Friday, after which it's straight off to Rutland and Grafham for a week on the boats.

I am just wondering if anyone can give me some tips on either of the fisheries, regarding areas that may be worth a cast or outfits that are finding the fish?

As much as I love salmon fishing, these Southern rainbows fight like stink

Thanks in advance

Gordon

Fished Grafham last week and struggled for 1 fish which took a Blob in the top 6"

One bank angler was nailing them on a sinking line and 2 foam shrimps on a sinker just off the seat.

Good luck

Was at Rutland on Tuesday, 8 fish by 12:15, caught on 'friendy' tube on a di5 40 plus. Fish to be had from 'old hall' all the way down to the peninsula, Whitwell frontage to Ernies point plus out in the middle of the basin. Fish are feeding hard on daphnia. Out again t'morrow, maybe see you there. Tightlines.

At grafham a week ago the trout were right in the edge. A boat was a distinct disadvantage.

Thanks folks

I will try and get as close to the bank as possible at Grafham.

Al Owen thanks for the tips, You wouldn't know where I could get a photo or description of the friendy tube?

I have a load of collie dogs and sunray shadows I am keen to give a swim in Rutland. I am sure they will work if the fish are on the fry.
