Very useful and interesting. This peon to the preservation of woody matter in sreams and rivers ( lakes too would benefit) is, now, in part accepted by most conservation/water admin bodies. The EA ceased stripping all matter from our tributory of the Wye in the 1990s - to save money rather than to promote stream health. Trout numbers ( all wild, all small ) are excellent. I will be titivating 2 miles of water during the coming drought and brashing bushes , trimming trees and complicating the flow as suggested
