Hot from Fishy Pics:

Lexus Team Final - Rutland 3 & 4 September 2010
The International Final, climax to the Lexus Team Competition, took place over two days at Rutland Water on 3 September 2010.
A report from Day 1 will follow on Saturday evening so as not to compromise competing anglers.
Results Day 1:
1. Blagdon Fly Fishers 45 fish for 93lb 9oz
2. Rio Masters 45 fish for 92lb 6oz
3. Nymph a Maniacs 45 fish for 88lb 9oz
4. Hungry Trout 43 fish for 86lb 14oz
5. Tightlines 41 fish for 79lb 10oz
6. Team Loop UK 39 fish for 77lb 10oz
7. Team Vision 37 fish for 76lb 2oz
8. Pitsford Pirates 37 fish for 75lb 13oz

10. Seighford Sharks 32 fish for 64lb 8oz

Top Individual: Gareth Jones 14 fish for 27lb 0oz
2.Peter Edge 13 fish for 25lb 12oz
3. Rob Sosbe 13 fish for 25lb 7oz
4. Dean Kibble 12 fish for 24lb 11oz
5. Mark McArthy 12 fish for 23lb 3oz

Statistics:
Anglers: 132
Fish Caught: 710
Rod Average: 5.4
Average Weight: 2.0lb

Day 2
Almost identical conditions as Day 1, lifting mist and a overcast skies, greeted the 132 competitors as they left the harbour. However, unlike Day 1 the boats seemed to be pretty evenly split, half opting to turn right into the main basin and half turning left drifting from the Sailing Club into Yellowstone bay on the prevailing south south easterly breeze. Fish were a little more difficult to come by during the morning session, but competition leaders Blagdon Fly Fishers seemed to have it cracked with Mark Withyman scoring well as was Martin Cottis who was having a rare old ding dong with boat partner, Rio Masters teamster, Ron Gent with Ron leading 6-5 just before lunch. Team Vision’s Tom Davies was also fishing well bringing 5 fish to the boat during the morning session. The afternoon session should prove to be the decider as it was in Day 1 when Rob Sosbe brought 5 fish to the boat in a blistering 15 minutes of fishing during the last hour of the competition drifting into Yellowstone Bay.
Full match report, results and pictures live this evening.

Rutland was on top form for this one!

Fantastic fish and the fishing was more challenging than the figures might suggest.

Congratulations to Tightlines............Fantastic angling, especially on day 2.

Also congratulations to Gareth Jones.....

Thanks to my Boat partners for the two days.......Gareth 'the Alien' Headland.....nice wine!! And Dave Newing of the fish hawks......two true gents......

Day 1 i had 11 fish at 2.30pm and finished with..........11

Day 2 i had 1 fish at 2.30pm and finished with..............8!!!! Just weird!!!!

Well done to all who took part, I was at a wedding in Rutland for the last few days and the conditions didn't look that favourable.

Took a few photos of everyone heading out on Friday morning from outside the hotel,

Overall result :

1st Tightlines
2nd Rio Masters
3rd Nymphomaniacs

Top Individual - Gareth Jones

Rod average over 5 both days - fished it's nuts off.

Well done to all and my team mates. The Pirates had an excellent first day but slipped to fifteenth overall after a harder time for all of us on day 2, for some reason.

Thanks to both my excellent boat partners who were regular forumites Al Owen and Carl (Captain Scarlet) - two great days out as Lady Luck ebbed and flowed between us...........................Carl eventually passing his "fish loss monkey" over to me on day 2 !

Charlie

Default strange days...

i've never lost so many fish in 2 days....yesterday i hooked 20 and landed 6 !!...all on the blobs and a di-5...even worse i lost 11 at the net through no real reason..

all in the middle of the south arm.......sailing club to yellowstone

today i had 8 takes for 7 fish .....all on the bl00dy dries (fished wet)......!!!!..missed 1

the fish are podded up big time...if you are on them they'll have anything !!!....if your off them by 10 m your wasting your time .....

Well done to Gazza..and Kiz jenkins..(returner of a 7 lb + lump)

well done to Tight Lines. on winning overall.....even though it was only 1 lb 8oz in the result you had 4 fish more than us.......and deserved to win by a bigger margin.cracking 2nd day performance...especially Scotty.......you are a man after my own heart mate !!! ;-)....nuff said !....i really like your style !!!

sorry for the wierd sh1t...just got in from the pub...

oh if the nymphomaniacs had the 1st team out....welll.....no one would have touched them....

my tip for the Anglian water...especially with Matthew Griff......and Jason back in the squad !!!
