Well done to Al Owen and the Cormorants, Dave Hoppe and the Flyers, GWFFA and Hanningfield.

Grafham was like fish soup, just didn't come for the Pirates this time though.

The Pirate.

Yup, the Jolly Roger was holed well below the water line today

Well done to the lads that qualified, especially the boys from Hanningfield.

Dave Hoppe and I would especially like to thank his team mate Craig who told us it wasn't worth going round the corner into Savages after about an hour of the match...................what numpties

Charlie

I'm not sure having flies on the cast would have made much difference for us yesterday We'll be back though, bring on the Lexus final.

Yep although I only managed 3 myself I can confirm that I observed lots of fishing being caught in the Savages and Sanctuary bay area.

Most people seem to be Nymphing on a Midge tip or floater. My Cast was a midge tip with a straight line mixture of Diawl Bach's and Crunchers.

After 2 days practice, the only place to be was Savages/Sanctuary Bay area. Nymphing on the midge was the answer for us on Sat/Sun but on the Match, conditions were perfect and there were fish showing all over that area. I saw fish caught on all methods, even 'blobs'. Rob Edmonds was getting them on tiny dries. Me and John Mees spent most of the day watching others catch, we got the odd pull, the odd fish that came to the net then fell off and that was about it. Thankfully, the rest of the team had a good day. There are still pleanty of good fish in Grafham - what a place. Well done to those that caught, commisserations to those like me who struggled, it was a weird day.
