The trout anglers federation of Ireland held there lake championships on the ross's lakes in Donegal yesterday.

1st place John Boyle : Ross's anglers

2nd place Kenny Ferguson : Woodford

3rd place Daniel Sweeny : Ross's anglers


well done to the top three, and wata bout are kenny comin 2nd, happy days mate

The top 20 will now represcent ulster in the all Ireland lake championships on lough corrib in september. and cant forget our captain mr B for also makin the team , well done lads and good luck in the all Ireland's skinny

When did Woodford become a CLUB?.The last i heard it was only a put and take fishery.

Woodford is indeed a put & take fishery but Woodford has also been a club for a long time, my friend, and as far as I know it still is.

I used to be a member of the "original" Woodford Club. It was affiliated to ITFFA and had a proper chairman, treasurer, secretary, and a constitution and everything.

After one of the Woodford members was involved in an "incident" during the 1998 Lough Melvin Open, the Club kind of fell apart in my opinion and most of the original members left. They wanted to dispand Woodford Club and give the money to disabled anglers, but threats of legal action from certain individuals stopped that.

Since that, Woodford never affiliated to the ITFFA and I dont know what ever happened to the money after the guys walked away. It would be interested to know if it is still there or if it was spent.

I know that the Woodford name is now affiliated to TAFI instead and I presume it has a constitution, Secretary, Treasurer etc and the correct number of members if required.

Anyway, this should not take away from the fact that these guys did really well on Sunday at the TAFI Ulster's. Again well done to John & Kenny & Daniel. Top Angling guys.
