Team Snowbee first with BRFFA Emergers in second (my team).

We had 21 fish, including 3 over 4lb. Rod average was just around 3 or 4I think.

Fishing was tough, but the lake is in pretty good form. They need looking for but we took on nymphs all day.

There have been some good evening movements and some good action for the bank too.

Not a classic start to the season, but the warmer weather is getting them moving

Andrew,

Beg to differ on results....

I understood:

1) Tightlines
2) BRFFA Emergers
3) Snowbee
4) BRFFA Team Cadbury
5) Blagdon

Happy to be corrected if wrong..

Musky

Well done to the BRFFA teams I only joined the BRFFA this year and its nice to see the teams doing well. Maybe one day I will good enough to get a place in one of teams. Need to do a lot more practice yet though (sorting my casting out would be a good start )

Well done to all that qualified on Saturday - every place was hard earned!!

Andrew - No worries mate - I only wish I was going forward too!! If we're honest at this stage 4th is very nearly as good as 1st!!

IMHO this is the best comp that is well organised and fishes the right venues at the right time of year ie Grafham - July and Rutland early Oct. Weather permitting of course!

Anyway well done to all qualifiers,

Musky

PS Drunkdiver - you'll be OK! Lots of enthusiasm is important as is fishing as many comps as possible - best way to learn. Don't be afraid to ask questions or ask for the successful fly....maybe best after comp is finished!! Remember don't write off anyone's success as luck - in this game you make your own luck and most importantly enjoy yourself!!
