Looked like a good day was had fishing wise.... never actually fished this ind comp.... not a fan of a repetitive entry event... even those who qualify enter again and again.... Much prefer a knock out comp

I bagged up at 1pm............third person to do so i believe..........my boat partner bagged up over two hours after me and qualified because he had a couple of 3lb lumps. I just missed out. Still a little naffed off about it but with the 1lb an hour time bonus, this comp can become a joke. Rob Edmunds was telling me that this has happened to him in the past also.

No bad feelings towards my boat partner, he was a true gent and well done to him and all the others that qualified.

Why does John Horsey stick with the 1lb per hour?? It just makes it a lottery.

Why not make it 8 fish limit kill and then catch & release after that, with 2lb per fish released. A scorecard could be given to each angler and both he and his boat parther have to complete it.

Would Rutland allow this

We used a similar system at Tildarg in the team event. 3 fish killed then a catch & release scorecard that each angler had to return. It worked fine and rewarded the anglers who caught the most fish

An average would work? say if the average size is 2lbs on the day then make that the bonus per hour and so on..... would make for some 'twitchy' bottoms after weigh in.....

What a great idea and with the software available on laptops now, it would be a doddle to set up.
