Default CHATTON WINTER LEAGUE 6th HEAT RESULTS 14/2/10

conditions were flat calm not a ripple bright sunshine and stayed that way for the whole duration of the comp
1st session
the odd fish was topping and as per norm the majority went in like a steam train pulling lures to no effect however fishing a team of buzzers saw Ian santos get off to a flyer with 3 fish in 5 casts and that was the highlight of his day unfortunately with landing just 1 more fish in the last session nothing more to get excited about as the odd fish was landed in the 1st hour
2nd session
chatton winter league regulars jonny mann, ken middlemist and terry carr all picked up 3 in this session with robbie bell shoving his nose out in front with 4
3rd session
this brought another 2 names forward into the running with tom russell landing 5 on peg 8 and tracey davison landing 3 on peg 9
4th session
just before the break saw david brown land 3 with jonny mann 2 and tom russell 1 and robbie bell adding 1 to his tally
5th session
just after dinner saw tracey davison fishing the dam landing 2 dropping 2 at the net and missing 1 whilst tom and robbie both contributing with another fish each
6th session
this session saw tom draw away from the field with landing another 4 fish whist none of his nearest rivals didnt add to their tallies
7th session
it was noticed that dave middlemast started to make a late surge with just before the the end of this session landing 2 in quick succession and dropping 2 at the net with tracey landing another it was going to be very tight on the last peg
final session
we had tom out in front with tracey and robbie level with 6 each and 5 others on 5 fish which you could see the tension on the anglers faces as they were asking what was leading and trying to concentrate as they knew that 1 more fish would put them in with a shout to grab a place in the final, having checked the watch with 1 minute to go saw nicky barrs and dave middlemast both hook into a fish with nicky landing his and dave,s coming off after lashing out of the water not saying alot dave cast his line straight back out and with 10 seconds to go whistle in my mouth ready to finish the match saw dave and terry carr both hook into fish with once again dave not being able to make it count and terry landing his it was back to the lodge to the weigh in ,we had 3 anglers on 6 fish and you could see the smiles from early on that they had now turned to tension it was as close as you could call it with the results as follows

1st Tom Russell 11 fish

2nd Robbie Bell 7 fish

3rd Terry Carr 6 fish (1.78)

4th Nicky Barrs 6 fish (1.44)

Tracey Davison 6 fish (1.44) on count back nick caught the 1st fish therefore goes through to the final

WILD CARD

BILL (mars bar) KING

this went to the angler who fished the most heats caught the most fish and didn,t manage to qualify in the top 4

once again thanks to Andy Campbell for marshalling this heat also congratulations to all qualifiers and the very best of luck to them all in the final on SAT 27th FEB 2010
