Flat calm and not a ripple in sight plenty of enthusiasm with lots of new faces at this one.
the session started with jim middleton getting off to a flyer with chucking his flies onto the water the water to strip line off his reel and up came a fish and within 30seconds was in the net this was closely followed by Robbie bell & Rob frame both landing 3 in quick succession with quite a few 2 being landed as well.
2nd session saw Rob frame and Keith row land 4 each with john anderson netting 2
3rd session saw the temperature drop dramatically hence only 4 fish being brought to the net with Fred bainbridge being top rod on this occation with 2 giving him 4 in total
4th session saw Alec bowler netting 2 fish in 2 casts and that was the excitement over for that session with only another 4 fish being returned at the half way stage the leader board was rob frame 8 keith row 6 robbie bell and fred bainbridge on 4 followed by a number of anglers on 3
5th session matty divine (already qualified) and alec bowler added another 4 to thier score card while robbie chipping away with another 2
6th session Josh fenton (EYFA) started creeping up the table with a creditable 3 on this peg with alec netting 2 ,with 2 sessions to go there were 7 anglers all on 6 fish each
7th session this peg became the the telling factor which seen alec draw away from the field with him bagging another 4 with only kieth row netting 2 and rob not being able to net a fish in the 1st 3 pegs of the afternoon session
final session leading into this saw 9 anglers looking to grab 1 of the 4 places available for the final spot with john anderson landing 3 and dropping 3 he was asking do you think that will cost me a place into the final and with not wanting to give anything away with a shrug of the shoulders ,who knows i replied its very close
