Default Chatton winter league results heat 3 12/12.09

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the weather as we know didn,t do us any favours this week it was 4 degrees c foggy and it stayed that way for all but 30 mins of the comp

1st cast saw peter edge hook and land a fish followed soon by stu conway who landed 2 fish within 5 mins then went on to drop 3 at the net his 1st 20mins john (white worm) brown ;D made a few heads turn with netting 2 fish quickly and dropping another 2 at the net and missing 4 takes in that session just before the whistle peter davison hooked and played 2 fish to the net with the fish on the point dropping off as he was about to net it .
joe brown 1 of chattons regulars from bedlington managed to get off to a good start this heat with landing 3 fish before the end of the 2nd session with john brown netting another 2 with ali tait and gareth tilley both picking up a couple in that session and ian santos putting in a show with 3.
just before the break this fish seemed to switch on for a 15 min spell with rods bending on many different pegs ,at the break it was john and joe brown who were just ahead on 5 with ali on 4 and peter edge and ian santos on 3.
after dinner saw the 1st 2 sessions to be very quiet with only a handful of fish being netted, the 3rd session saw the lake come alive again with lots of fish being hooked and netted and also quite afew dropped with john landing another 3 it looked like a 1 horse race until ian richie (already qualified) landed 5 in no time and matty divine also a chatton regular kept chipping away and also landed 5 up with gareth and ali on 4 and quite afew of the field on 3 it looked as if it was going to be down to the wire, a surprise package was still in store with the chatton coach jimmy middleton ;D hooking and landing 4 in no time and dropping at least 3 at the net then to everyones dismay with 30 mins to go he picked up his gear and wandered off for a cuppa saying he didnt realise he was still in with a shout but there,s always next time (good on ya jim ) right near the end gareth popped up with another fish with a big sigh of relief from him

i would just like to say a big thanks to Robbie Bell,Andy Campbell and Mick Yeoman who helped marshall this heat

Hi There,

Jim.

Thanks for the thanks but I would say that without you there would probably be no competition so well done on all the work that you have put in to the event.

I would also say that I enjoyed my day as a controller and being relatively new to small water fishing it was very interesting to watch the competitors.

I learned a lot and would reccomend the experience to anyone.

Best Regards

robbie
