Default Chatton winter league heat 1 results 7/11/09

Stared 8.45 bright sunshine with a light S/W breeze

1st session
Trevor Wadds got off to a flying start within 3 casts landing 2 fish with Ali Tait landing 2 himself in
the 1st 15min not long after saw Ken Middlemiss Andy Campbell and Rob Frame all frothing the water with
landing 3 fish each in a short space of time just before the end of the session saw Ken netting another
fish to give him 4 with a trickle of fish being brought to the net with a count of 20 in all for the end
of the session.

2nd session

with the weather changing slightly to overcast the anglers were saying this should bring the fish on a bit harder
how wrong they were only 6 fish being netted with Rob being the only angler to sneak a one out of both sessions.

3rd session

this saw Rob put another 3 fish onto his tally and Ken adding 1 to his with Ian Richie from derbyshire and Tom Potts
starting to add to there own scores with Ali striking again adding to his score, with the odd 1 here and there 14 in
total for this session

4th session

just before the break saw Rob added another 2 while Trevor Andy and Ian had 1 each with Dean Hedley (last years
trout masters winner) push himself into contention with 3 in the space of 10 mins, with a total of 10 fish caught
this session there was plenty to talk about.
The thing that got my attention was that everyone was very open as to what they were catching on

5th session

This was a session where lots of fish were hooked but only 9 landed most noticable was Trevor Wadds putting another
3 on his score card with Ian 2 Andy and Ken 1 each and Rob missing out on this 1.

6th session

This was the most frustrating and productive session of the day i saw Ali Tait on the dam miss at least 4
takes on the indicator while his team captain John Brown on the next peg was adding to his tally while
bookies fav and Airflo heat winner Kev Dinning 1 peg along landed 3 in 5 casts also did W Cromby with Andy 2
Ian 1 and with Trevor hitting a pod of fish adding another 4 on this peg 22 fish being netted this session.

7th session

Looking at the scorecard this was becoming very interesting as quietly in the background Jim Drew and
Peter Davison were chipping away nicely to bring themselves into contention with a score of 5 this looked as
if anyone in the top 12 could grab a place in the 1st heat to go throught to the final with Ali,Jim,Rob,Andy and
Ian all bring a fish to the net with a total of 6 being caught this session

:ast session

This also turned out to be 1 of the least productive sessions with only 6 fish coming to the net with and a drastic
drop in temperature possibly the cause ?

RESULTS & QUALIFIERS

1st ROB FRAME 12 fish

2nd TREVOR WADDS 10 fish

3rd ANDY CAMPBELL 9 fish

4th IAN RICHIE 8 fish

22 fished 93 caught ROD AVE 4.22

Hi Robbie

fishing starts 8.30 prompt draw for peg,
fish 4 pegs in the morning moving 6 pegs every move with 5 min break between each peg allowing anglers to move round
30 mins for lunch then fishing 4 pegs after break
fishing to fishery rules
2 hooks max barbless or debarbed
kill your 1st rainbow, max 5 fish per peg winner is who ever catches most fish top 4 qualify for final
1 wild card which will go to the person who fishes most heats and catches the most fish without qualifying
it is the anglers responsability to check thier own hooks prior to fishing as there are hook checks throughout the comp anyone found using a barbed hook will be disqualified

anglers may fish as many heats as they wish
