Default T.A.F.I. Inter-Provincial Lake Championship 2009 Results

The T.A.F.I. Inter-Provincial Lake Championships took place on Lough Owel today. Despite a scorching hot sun and very bright conditions some anglers caught great bags of trout. Others found the going tough but all in all a great competition and a large credit for that is due to the Lough Owel Trout Preservation Association and their wonderful facilities at Tullaghan.

Congratulations to Campbell Baird on a great win today in very tough conditions.

1. Campbell Baird (Ulster) 4 trout over 6lb
2. John Healy (Munster) 4 trout
3. David Mears (Munster) 4 trout

Largest trout - Campbell Baird 1lb 15oz.

Inter-Provincial Winners - Munster (38lbs)

Sorry for being pedantic, but I take it this :-
Quote:
Campbell Baird (Ulster) 4 trout over 6lb
Means that Campbell caught four fish weghiing more than 6lb in total .Rather than Campbell caugh 4 fish ''over'' 6lb's.

Hi Jim,

The total weight of Campbell's bag was over 6lb, I haven't got the exact weight. The next 3 also had 4 trout weighing over 5lb (combined weight), again I don't have exact weights.

There was a couple of anglers with 3 trout, some 2's and single trout and many blanks.

The heaviest trout was 1lb 15oz. not 6lb a piece. Hope that clears it up.

Bert
