Default Junior Troutmasters Final

Just out of interest could anyone tell us the results of the above?

It may not be of much importance to some, but could be to those young anglers who acheived the final of which I know there was some fine young anglers fishing in it and will certainly feature in future adult competitions.

Would be nice to see some recognition for them dont you think.?

I don't know if there was an overall winner as there were two different sessions on the Saturday and Sunday. I was there on the Sunday, which was won by a Scottish lad with 5 fish I think. (Tyler Hay possibly but I may be wrong) More fish - and bigger - were caught on the Saturday.
Taishiroy08 on here won best fish of the day on Sunday with a 5lb blue.

Overall, it was a good and well-organised day with some casting tuition and fly tying demos from the local STA and an area set aside for parents to sit down and watch.
Lots of credit to the magazine for organising the event and trying to encourage youngsters; also to the Stonebridge team for closing the venue for 3 days so that the final could take place.
Results and reports in Trout Fisherman issue on sale from September 10th. The Stonebridge website should have pics up soon too.

Talking learning from the adults...

Did the tuition involve how to hide smelly old trout, caught 3 weeks earlier, ready for the weigh in?

Good to see some results,im sure someone must have them.very nice to see young tyler Hay won on sunday he is a credit to young anglers and look out for him in the future. This young lad is a class angler and is a joy to watch and fish with, fishes buzzers very well and rarely on the lures.casting is superb.
well done to all the young anglers.

james i know what your saying but I know young tyler wouldnt enter that in his head as he doesnt need to do that and lets give the young lads the credit and we shouldnt even class the two contests in the same breath. Those adults made that choice and have to live with their embarassment. These lads can enjoy their success with all the pride they showed.

Not on buzzers at the Final. IIRC it was the sunburst blob what won it
In fact the whole day was pretty much a blobfest; not many other flies got a look in.

James - no fishy goings on with any of the trout. The event was very well stewarded with a steward to each peg mostly or 1 steward to 2 pegs on the not so hot spots. The young ones were all up for the fishing and I dont think it would have entered anyone's head to cheat

I dont know where you are are coming from mate but that is well below the belt. You should be giving these young anglers encourgement and not acussing them of of cheating unless you are jealous of their acheviements Jim

Well said Jim, methinks it may have been a tongue in cheek comment though I hope.
