Default Lexus Team Chew Wednesday

Just heard that Greys G Tec Stocks won the match today with 17 fish!! The second placed team had 10 fish, I think the Ospreys were third with 10 fish as well.

The rod average was a touch over 1 , with more than 20 blanks!!!!

Yep, winners had 17 fish, next 3 teams qualified with 10 fish and the 5th team qualified with 8 fish. (Team Grand Max from Bewl were 5th). One team had 2 fish again! That's a tough day! Was 1lb per hour time bonus LOL

Wow, God help the teams later this week

Needs to improve a lot before the Individual Final

My mates said only half was fishable due to weed - whatever happened to weedcutters ?

It's not as bad as they said weed wise. I'd say about 75% of the lake is OK. The fish are hard on corixia. We caught residents at Morton and behind Dennys, but at best 1 fish/take an hour. The way it's fishing with the stockies switching off, I think anyone who spent all day at one of those 2 places would come in with at least 3 fish. I had 6 of my fish at Morton on Monday but I was the only boat there for about 5 hours and the fish came in little active bursts with long periods of zilch.

I fished it Monday in the first leg of the English final and it was appalling, I had two fish and the team had 10 in total, three more fish would have qualified us, it was that bad.

Vast areas of Chew is unfishable due to the weed and everyone is jostling to get into Villice, there were 26 out of 30 boats in there at one point, pure carnage it was.

I think it is a disgrace that weed cutters were not employed prior to these finals, it makes a mockery of this great event.

Apart from that, some of the fishery staff have had successful courtesy and customer service bypass operations; their attitude is horrendous.

JH needs to rethink his policy of holding so many finals on this pimple on the @rse of fly fishing venue. I appreciate this is his home water and he is a top bloke at the end of the day but this water is just not up to scratch.

Cue the backlash and much coughing and spluttering from the Wurzels.

Pip pip!

It's unfishable if you stick to you're Di7 and blobs PP.

Cue the backlash and much coughing and spluttering from the PP.

Fishable areas:

East shore, Spring Bay, Wick (granted just), Morton, Herons, Nunnery, Villis, Woodford bank, Main Bowl, Behind Dennys. Even in front of the bird sanctuary.

Patches of weed throught but all the above areas are very fishable and make up most of the main drifts anyway. In practice, we caught fish in all the above areas except the main bowl which was a surprise, Wick and the Bird sanctuary.
