The Federation of Midland Fly Fishers Anglia 2012 Qualifiers will be held at:

Rutland Water – 27th May
Grafham Water – 17th June

The entry fee for 2012 has been reduced to just £40 which includes, entry fee administration, boat fees for BOTH the preliminary matches and match insurance.

The boat draw for the Qualifying Matches will be held at Grafham Water Fishing Lodge at 7.00pm on 26 April. All are welcome to attend.

Where and on what date is the final being held 2012?

The English National is being fished on Bewl Reservoir and the dates are not yet finalised but it should be either 21st or 28th September.

It would appear there are hidden addition costs, for me anyway: someone living in an area under Severn Trent, I've been informed I have to join a club affiliated to The Angling Trust, something I have no qualms about doing; however, is this true?

This is not a hidden cost or indeed a cost associated with the qualifying competition.

As far as I'm aware it has always been the case that you have to be a member of one of the clubs attached to the federation to be able to enter their qualifiers. The cost of club membership is something the club sets and you are paying to join the club this is not part of your entry to the competition.

You could always enter the Severn Trent eliminator and pay an affiliation fee-10th June at Blithfield Reservoir

Yes, but I'd sooner fish Rutland and Grafham, as I've never fished Blithfield.

PS Also, I have friends I can stay with prior to the match;something I do not have near Blithfield.Anyway,looks like I'll be joining an affiliated club.
