The first semi of the Daiwa-backed Carron Valley Masters was won by Wullie Leach - but he won't be in the final.
He already has a commitment to compete in Wales and a date switch means it now clashes with the Masters showdown on Sunday, August 7.
His absence meant a bonus for Chris Sutherland who finished 11th on the night but still made it into the final
Wullie won the semi with five rainbows on a night when a cold east wind made it slightly harder than normal. Carron regular Derek McAlpine was second. A total of 71 fish were caught in total.
Results and qualifiers: 1st Wullie Leach, 5 for 206cm. 2nd Derek McAlpine, 6 for 204cm. 3rd – Michael Low, 6 for 203.5cm. 4th Scott Aitken. 5th Campbell Morgan. 6th Jim McKinlay. 7th George Telford. 8th Andy Dunn. 9th Gus Shepherd. 10th Ian Earle. 11th Chris Sutherland.
