Greys National Bank Heat / Langley Dam(TEAM)
This was another good heat to marxhall with high expectations from all who took part.with the weather once again deciding to play a big part
Conditions to start off with were ideal ,westerly breeze with a nice ripple straight from the start the teams were saying couldnt of asked for a better day and within 10 mins the 1st fish was brought to the net by Rob Frame who will be representing England this year in Ireland he was fishing a pair of shipmans black on the point and hares ear on the dropper, next up David white fishing for Knitsley mill had 3 in 3 casts along with Alan mcphail NE fly fishers netting 2 in quick succession along side Bill king who played a nice fish of around 8lbs plus for some time got it right to the net then leading it to the net the line came away from his braided loop on which i think everyone on the 14acre lake heard bills expression when loosing the fish sorry bill better luck next time.
The 2nd and 3rd sessions weren,t very busy with only 3 fish in each session being netted, the last one before dinner saw 6 fish coming to the net with Gordon swain having the bulk of these with 3 for himself to the net which left it all to play for after dinner as 2 teams were on 6 one on 4 and one yet to get off the mark.
After the break saw the weather change from sun to rain then wind it was uncomfortable to say at the least but this didnt put 1 particular angler off as he netted 4 off 1 peg then 3 off his next this was to become the deciding factor in the match as heads seem to drop as they knew with the weather not improving and the fish eluding their respective team mates it wasnt going to be their day and how true they were .
