Congratulations to the top team; welsh hawks.. and top rod; red diawl.

2nd and 3rd teams were the Irish lads, so John Mees put the top 4 'welsh' teams thro' to the welsh final.
Had a cracking but tough day with Gary Stewart of the Emerald Islanders.

Thanks guys, enjoyed the day with Stuart Pickard with Ruabon, the second Irish team are not coming back for the welsh final so Ruabon will step up although it has to be confirmed by the Irish team in writing to John Mees, Tarka there will be 8 teams in the final, four weeks sunday which will soon be here!

I had a day to forget on match day. Engine broke down, flies fell apart . Two chances all day. One was a perch and one was a 15 oz rainbow at 5.30 pm . Never so glad to see a wee stockie in my life to save the blank.

Had some good fishing the previous 2 days with my team captain Limavady Stockiebasher . He kept buying the drinks on Saturday night, till it was daylight outside. Captain Morgan's with coke and Guinness in a pint glass goes down too well.

A great effort by my team mates Mark, Garry, Arden, Stevie and the 67 year old youngster, Stan McCart. Well done boys.

Also a great effort by our Irish friends the Rounstone Cowboys. Basil, Seamus, Patrick, Barry, Andy and Joe. Good angling boys. Two Irish teams
2nd and 3rd. Same amount of fish as us, but it came down to overall weight. Great for Irish angling.

Really looking forward to Rutland in October.

Well done the Welsh Hawks on winning the heat on Brenig and to Russ as top rod.
As captain of the Emerald Islanders i would like to thank the team on a good team performance and for Oakham for sticking it out on to the end for his 15oz stockie!!!! Good angling lads now bring on Rutters!!!!!!!
