NOTABLE CATCH: Steve Smalley with 7 fish for 13lb 13oz
BEST RAINBOW: Lots of fish over the 4lb mark.
BEST BROWN: 3lb for Jim Rigby
BEST BLUE: 11lb 3oz for Micky Frith
BOAT ROD AV: 2.54 fish per man.

SPORT: Today up at Stocks we held the first heat of the 2011 Anglian Water Airflo International. With bright sun and gusty winds the fishing was never going to be easy. However despite these conditions a number of anglers managed to complete their bags. With 8 teams fishing in the comp there were 4 places up for grabs to go through to the northern final at Rutland water.

1st Stocks Falcons with 21 fish for 46lb 5oz

2nd Stocks Harriers with 18 fish for 45lb 14oz

3rd Chatton Trout Fishery with 19 fish for 38lb 15oz

4th England Youth North with 18 fish 37lb 12oz

5th Stock Hawks with 17 fish 35lb 8oz

6th Ospreys FFC with 17 fish for 34lb 8oz

7th Top Droppers with 9 fish for 18lb 11oz

8th Hazzie Fliers with 3 fish for 5lb 2oz

Well done to all who qualified, must have been a slog. Great to see another youth team through to a regional final, superb lads.

That's a weird one Steve, when we fished together at Grafham in same comp a couple of years ago, I also had top bag that day yet my team didn't qualify.

Although I appreciate it's a team event, well done on your best bag mate but what on earth happened to the rest of the team, 10 fish between the other five of them? That is a complete surprise, would normally expect you guys to be there or there abouts.

Comiserations Steve, it certainly was a difficult day for all competitors. Stocks is not an easy water to read when it is as dour as it was on Saturday. Congratulations to my Harriers team mate Mike Frith for qualifying for the individual final with the biggest fish and to the rest of the lads for a consistent performance, which saw us through as runners up un the day by 7 ounces
