Arrived just gone 8am and we were met by our host for the day Ben Dobson owner of the fishery who was suffering from the previous nights bottle of wine so i was told

Conditions were bright flat calm not a cloud in the sky nor a breath of wind fantastic.
The pegs were drawn then the briefing was given out then everyone trecked off to their pegs it was the usual 4 pegs in the morning and 4 in the afternoon all consisting of 40 mins.
The whistle blew and off they went and within seconds the water came alive with thrashing trout all over the place and anglers calling out to the marshalls that they were off the mark within 10 mins you could here the same names being called out once or twice and with only 25 mins gone on the 1st peg there were 2 calls of right oh just sit on yer hands for the next 15mins

then another 1 followed within 5 mins of the 1st call saying that was it till their next move ,there were no fewer than 32 fish landed on the 1st session alone ,everyone thinking this was going to be a doddle ! how wrong they were the 2nd session followed by another limit of 5 fish by simon robinson next to him was chris tuck with 3 then a couple of 2s and that was it,for the rest of the day it seemed to come to a halt by dinner time and with the lake getting a rest for an hour everyone thought it was going to be wacky races again all i can say it was a real grind with the fish not wanting to play after lunch with a total of 48 fish being netted in the morning and 24 in the afternoon it just tells you a small story of how it was however everyone did enjoy the banter before and after the match thanks went to Ben for hosting the event Terry and Tracey for marshalling it look forward to the next heat .
