Eamonn Ross is your man Colin he should be able to help you out.
This is a great comp and the LSTPA are a great organisation who do wonderful work to restore Sheelin to its former glory. Its great to see so many anglers contributing to this great cause and long may it continue.
Just hope the wind doesn't blow like it did last year, I almost went for a swim in Sheelin as the boats left crover in the morning. A little less wind this year please.

The day was very unsettled squally, windy and some very heavy showers or downpours, not the best conditions to say the least. There was about 32 fish over 15 inches weighed in. 15 inches was the size limit. There was a lot of trout caught under this limit and they were returned. There is an awful lot of small wild trout in Sheelin at the moment.

Thanks for the info cax,
about 32 fish is a low enough catch for over 200 rods,
but thats what the 15" limit is there for, to limit the kill.

regarding the large head of small trout,
Its a good sign & and indication that the stream enhancement & hatchery is working,
Those trout wont be small for long with the extremely rich feeding that they have in the lake.

hopefully they'll fatten up quick

agreed about the catch returns but conditions were far from ideal.
Yes the young trout will grow quickly. Only for the work of the LSTPA sheelin would be nothing like the fishery it is now.
