Congrats to England Youths..Good Angling.

Also have to say a big well done to Ireland for a very impresssive silver, as OO mentioned in a rainbow water away from home! Well done lads, hopefully we'll be seeing a few of you in the seniors very shortly!

Congrats to Harry for top Irish Rod who I presume retains his place for next year?

Unfortunately Harry will be too old for the Youth Team next year. But watch out for him as a senior on Lough Melvin in the 2011 Ulster Championships

Well done England, fantastic achievement.

I was in the boat with Hary McAteer, brilliant angling. Two fish early on in Savages, followed by a successfully landed double hook up off the nature reserve, then 2 in the closing stages on the last drift to the harbour.

Will Diamond for for wales also gave a good account of himself with 3 fish, narrowly missing being top rod for Wales.

Excellent day well organised, all ran really smoothly.

Results and images should be on Fishy Pics soon.

Thumbs up

Would just like to say thankyou for all the kind messages, it means alot that this achievement is being recognised. Those lads deserve every single plaudit.

They worked their socks off for this, not just over the past week but all year. I'm proud to be associated with a set of lads that did their country proud. Not just the fishing but with the way they conducted themselves from start to finish.

Thanks to all the boatmen on the day, many of which are members of this forum. Without your help this event wouldn't have even taken place.

Would also like to mention a fantastic effort by the Irish lads. There are some real characters in that team!!!

On to Menteith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Default youth international

Hi all,
This indeed was an excellent competition.
Fishing was hard but someone had to win. The English team were outstanding on the day and they truely deserved the win.

But i must say a big well done to my lads, they did Ireland proud and as they are more used to dibbling their top dropper for browns, the result was remarkable.

Well done to Harry and Mark Sloan( VICE CAPTAIN )on getting 6 each on the day, but to them all the members for working as a team throughout the event. They had a great captain in Squeaky aka Ben Desmond Moore and vice capt Mark Sloan.

Congrats must also goto the coaching + managing staff( COLIN, AIDAN( How does he find the time to tie so many flies) GEORGE AND DAVID). they all played their part
Also a big word of thanks to our sponsors flextec for the rods they sponsored to each member of youth team. Lovely rods indeed.

Many thanks must also go to all the parents and officers for their contributions throughout the week and we look forward to meeting you all again on the Lake in Scotland next year

Well done again to England.......

Regards,
Denis

Great week, hard work but great......Oh Phill snores too much and f4rts too much !!! our room stunk !

Of course I don't do either ;-)

He is however the "Wotsit Stuffing Champion"....over 30 in his mouth at once and still going.....i had to withdraw from the comp at about 25 to throw up !

I'm just glad it wasn't Golf.....the Welsh lads on the driving range were exceptional....4 of them could drive over 275yards every time and were in single figure handycaps !

Very impressed with the Irish performance .........especially as it was all alien for many of them.....

Anyway just writing a press release and i'll be out Monday

cheers r
