Well that ain't going to happen as the vast majority of Irish anglers are very happy with the all Ireland set up and thats how it will stay. Go set up your silly little NI team and fish against your selves as no one else will recognise you anyway. God spare us from a**holes.
Well done to England and all who competed in the rivers international

Well said HKS. The day on the Tees was brilliant last Friday. Congratulations to Peter Godfrey for organising everything so well as always. Without doubt the Rivers lads from all 4 countries are really good eggs and the banter and camaraderie amongst all of them was outstanding. The controllers had come from all over the country to support the event and all of them did their bit for the competitors. I was accompanied by Terry Phillips from Lancashire who has qualified for this year's English National on the Welsh Dee, he certainly knows his stuff on the rivers, so good luck to him. I felt particularly sorry for Chris Micallef, one of the controllers, who was continually running up and down Beat E in the morning chasing after John Tyzack in pursuit of fishy water. ( Its not surprising that controllers had to complete a medical form prior to the event about their state of health which included info on their next of kin in case of an emergency!!!!). Ken Brewster the marketing director of Hardys was also present all day on the water taking a great interest in the competition and also attending the Presentation Dinner in the evening at the George Hotel at Piercebridge.
I managed to crawl into bed at 01.30hrs, a great day. Well done everyone.

Well said to you lads.

I find it sad that racism has leaked its way into this thread. Fly fishing is not about racism sectarinism or bigotry. Dont you think we have enough of that in football. Ive had it for supporting a club of irish decent (called the F word) but dont bring it into fly fishing. Its the one place many men and women can go to get away from it and not be troubled by race, religion or origin of country. Just everyone as people together regardless of their own views. Have any of you met an angler on the bank heard his accent and said "ohh sorry you english, welsh or scottish so i cant converse with you" i doubt so! Now take your racism elsewhere because your not wanted here.

Congratulations to england even though i wanted scotland to win
