I'll try an explain the scoring system as best I can.
* The comp is fished in 2 parts (bank and boat).
* The placings in each session are determined by weight - so 2 fish for 7lbs would beat 3 fish for 6lbs 8oz for example.
* Person with heaviest bag in session scores 1 point. 2nd bag scores 2 points, 3rd bag scores 3 point etc etc.
* After both sessions are completed, you add your 2 scores together and the person with the least points win.
This way the most consistent angler SHOULD win as you need to catch in both sessions to stand any chance of winning - which is why I found it hard to believe that people who blanked in the morning session still went on and pulled stockies out one after another knowing full well that they couldn't win. IMO they would have been better off looking for 1 BIG fish to put them in with a shout of the biggets fish prize.
I caught 9 in the morning session and 1 from the bank so I should have placed higher than the person who caught 23 in the morning but blanked in the afternoon.
Hope that helps answer your question.
