Competition rules are broken in just about every match I fish, boats are frequently within 50m of one another, more often than not to close to bank anglers and can usually be found well within the 50m 'no go zone' of the nature reserve bank in Manton Bay at Rutland. Some do not 'debarb' on catch and release, the list is endless. Guess all that I've mentioned is classed as 'cheating' and if so, then I'm as guilty as any because I've drifted on many occasions, far to close to a nature reserve bank.
Can anyone out there honestly say that they have never bent the rules slightly? Unless there is adequate monitoring of what goes on during a competition, this will always happen. In this day and age, it's just what we as anglers deem acceptable thats become the norm. People that live in glass houses sould not throw bricks.

Competition anglers will always push the boundries of the rules, the clues in the name competition. How many games of football have you watched where stricktly speaking rules have been broken? Its all in the game you accept it for what it is.

There is a line however that should not be crossed and for each angler it will be diffrent. I don't condone cheating but drifting within 50m of another boat or being a wee bit to near the Nature Reserve bank (where is that by the way, I am sure Al took me up there once.) I see this as all part of the game. If you don't like it don't do it.

This thread has been interesting to read but is getting a bit silly, well done to Rob for fessing up about what happened takes a lot of courage to admit you were in the wrong.

Having been accused of similar activities a few years ago, I took legal action to clear my name and that of my team.... I used video footage to put an end to it... If my experiance at the time ever crops-up where I find 'anyone' accuses me (or my team members) referring to the said event.. will incur similar legal action...

Having seen 'still' pictures and video footage of the Toft Winnerweb, I conclude that Jason took proper steps to disqualify the person involved...

Furthermore Highlander, I retract my statement that Rob helped him and meant no harm... I should have got my facts right... just as others should have done when me and my team were accused...

Sorry.
