Default SANA HEAT ,ALLANDALE TARN

Hi there ,just a quik update on the above heat .There were 14 anglers and a lunatic fishing the heats today He got off to a flying start and no wonder as he had a RUBBER DOCKEN GRUB or similar (fly) on and fair play to MARGO as she binned him after a fly check. He must have knew it was happenin as he cut it off and threw it in the water as MARGO approached A big thanks to IONA AND MARGO for runnin the comp . The place was movin wi fish early on and showed ALL DAY ,but were extremely hard to tempt with the sun and blue sky bein a factor. No fixed method as proven when 1st place fished totally different from 2nd and so on. Theres some HEAVY LUMPS in there as well ,seen a couple over the 10lb mark and some biggies rumblin out in the middle.Lucky enuff as to qualify andlookin forward to the final. Finally ,its a shame that thers been such a poor response to this comp and when you see the venue half full and the semi.finals cancelled you wonder what people want nowadays.OBVIOUSLY PLEASURE FISHING. But when i used to fish comps before my daughter came along the response was tremendous and the carpark was a whos who when you pulled in. Well if your reading this and didnt enter you missed out,it was hard but really well run and the big carrot is there for all in the final. I know its not everyones cup of tea but consider it for next year or you never know it might be binned just like DOCKEN MAN

There was approx. 100 entrants................. given the current climate with many long standing events being well under subscribed this year, infact some heats and comps. have been cancelled altogether, add to that it's only in it's first year and some of the dates set clashed with other comps. i also believe a mistake was made by putting all the heats on the same date. I don't think 100 anglers is at all bad.............. Once the event becomes established i'm sure it will see higher numbers.

With respect, one man who cheats and is found out and correct action was taken, should not take away from those who worked hard and qualified for the final.I had 4 lads travel all the way from AYR to fish and they all got through and deserved it,surely this is the dedication which so much has been spoken about that they have shown thiers.

The low numbers are showing in most of the major competitions and are down to many reasons,5 months of no fishing over winter, recession and lack of money flow and people have to be carefull what they choose to fish this year because of it.

It now has a year to prepare for the next year and Im sure it will be much improved on ,what was the first year.

at least it was 100 anglers who fished, when, if it wasnt there wouldnt have had the chance from the bank.
Dont go down the route of saying those who fished it were not good enough,as there was internationals fishing in it and plenty of very good anglers in it and have qualified quite within the true sport of competition and deserve it.

it is not about Sana, but the spirit of competition and those who wanted it and prepared to dedicate them selves and their own money to take part in it.

A cheat deserves all he gets, but talking of decent anglers in the same breath is wrong.

Could this be because the members club pay's the entry fee . I wonder how many would enter if they had to pay the fee themselves,???

I don't need to make excuses mate ........... as i've said on another thread there are still many angler's who do not know that the International is in place.
Let's see how it pans out next year............ my strong bet is .... the numbers will increase........... how many who knows, but i bet it does.
