Default Help Please

I've been asked to tie some flies in size 10 that are competition compliant (Mainly dabblers).
What do I need to know - I'm not a competition angler myself.

I've tried a search on these forums but the search facility is either very poor or I'm not using it correctly (probably the latter!).

I would appreciate some advice to save me trawling through masses of posts.

Thanks
bbj

Better to tie slightly short of the 15/16ths to allow for them being slightly longer when wet.

Hi There,

It might be best to check which competition it is for.

There are slight differences between a few of them and the Scottish Clubs and Fips Mouche competitions have significant differences.

Just a thought.........

Best Regards

robbie

Is there any restriction on the Width or the use of Rubber legs at the side of the fly?

No, but you have to be careful nothing exceeds the length limit when wet or had a few tugs from fsh.

Thanks
I will have to have a tinker with the pattern as the legs move if you pull them hard which might put it over the length limit.
