Default Sanacc & sana

I read the paperwork last week which SANACC sent out and in particular, all the background info for their agm this Sunday much of which, wouldn't be worth having in the bog! Such a load of tosh. Seen the SANA report as well which prompted me to do some quiet digging into the reality of the situation.

After speaking to a few folk it might be worth some others asking SANACC just what it is they're actually doing for the ordinary punter apart from what appears to be a veiled, very narrow and undervalued (discriminative?) view of the wider angling community. The truth is actually being manipulated in such a way to make folk think SANA is to blame for all this, I really don't think so.

A number of questions do need answers though.

Does SANACC operate any kind of restricted access to its competitions and if so, why?

Why has SANACC said "club membership of SANA is being rated as inferior" (not something I personally would have put into print for possible legal reasons!) but from what I hear, this is simply not true, goodness knows why they've said that or why they seem to want to discredit SANA, it's all a bit political where the various political parties try and outdo each other, with 'it's ma ba an' yer no playin' attitude. What are they scared of?

I don't think it's true either that SANA just came along on a whim to take away the managerment of 2 competitions. Meetings were held before from what I hear and explained what was required but it was SANACC who decided in some proposal not to be part of it. Their decision! Their bed, lie on it! Anybody can see from SANAs website and the annual report what happened.

If I wanted to fish for Scotland, I want to do it because I'm good enough and on merit, not for the way I roll up my trouser leg.

Yes, reading the 'Background Information' really shows the thinking in all its glory, pity when brains were handed out ........etc...........and 'throwing one's toys out of the pram' springs to mind!

Default Sana SANACC

Hi Cobravenom,i`m sure you will get many comments on your posting.

I`ll start the ball rolling. To me SANACC run the Scottish National Competition and the Scottish CLubs competition. Probably the two most prestigous competitions on the Scottish competition calendar.....personally apart from the odd glich here and there I think they do this very well.

Your comment about trousers legs i just dont get. Sanacc when they selected World and European teams ran eliminators for these teams, yes you had to have a couple of previous caps to fish the eliminators but i thought that criteria was a good one and a transparent one....no hidden agendas or caps for the boys, if you finished in the top 5 you made the team...simples. This process brought Scotland its best ever result in the World Championships in 2009.

let me ask you what do SANA do for the ordinary Angler............not much that i can see.......Cormorant issue......nothing............Fish Farms......next to nothing that i can see anyway

For the first time ever my club has only joined SANACC and given up our SANA membership............this was done with our members backing.....it maybe shows you how out of touch SANA are with the ordinary angler

just my view

Gus Shepherd.

...........by the way Corbravenom whats your name? so we can have a clear and transparent discussion

Looks suspiciously like a second username to me Gus , and i think its just someone trying to wind this whole SANACC/SANA situation up again. I could be wrong, but there is definately something "no right" about Cobravenom

Welcome to the forum Corbravenom aka wtf knows.

Glad to see you are reading all the bumph, I asked a question on the last thread about all this, before it was closed, maybe with your hidden wisdom you can answer it.

When was the subject of a bank competition raised at either the SANA or SANACC AGM. Or can you enlighten the fishing world as to who or what the outside sources are that are pushing this agenda forward.

As to the ludicrous pop about discrimination regarding entry to SANACC competitions, how many SANA and SANACC members have now been discriminated against for entry to the World and European league set up by the need to have been in a Scottish Rivers Final in the last 5 years.

The initial number has been identified as 40+ not very many considering the thousands of anglers represented by both bodies. Albeit this should increase in the future.

The only requirement to enter the world eliminators held by SANACC the last few years was the requirement to have 2 caps. Is it not a fact that in any sport you have to attain a certain level of prowess before you are allowed onto the world scene.

I`ll look forward to your answers

Gus, Just a quickie regarding your bit about only joining SANACC

Special Resolution No 3 has to be carried at the SANACC AGM

This will remove Paragraph 1.1b from the SANACC Articles

Should it not be carried, all clubs will still be required to join SANA as well as SANACC if they want to enter the competitions.

If any club want this removed they have to make sure they attend and vote or send in their proxy vote.

Any proxy votes must be in by the 5th of March

I`ll be there, might be the busiest one for a long, long time.

Hopefully loads will be coming, needs a big vote for to change any of the articles so fingers crossed, everyone understands just what is happening.

It may be of interest to most of you who think Cobravenom is an unbiased onlooker giving us the benefit of his wisdom to know that nothing could be further from the truth.

I think its about time to come out of the murky shadows, CV, or should that be GB?

Boy am I glad I didn`t decide to hold my breath waiting on his reply.

Another question for you cobravenom if you do return.

When you were perusing all the bumph, did you come across the letter sent to SANACC by SANA giving them full authority to run the World and European competitions for them?

Which has now been consigned to the bin unilaterally by SANA, mind you that isn`t a first, you may have seen in the bumph where SANA refused to repay a loan they got from SANACC several years ago.

Hi by the way Stan, you`ll be looking forward to retiring, any word on a successor?

See you on Sunday as well.
