Default competion's for beginners.

I would like to get into competion fishing in my area to start with (N west Cheshire) or there abouts. The only comp fishing i have done is troutmasters, i have qualified this past three years for it. Can't travel to far money a bit tight. Thanks for any help. Jonathan.

hello sage i am in northwich and we don,t really have any local comps on cheshire waters that i am aware of i travel out stocks or brenig . Stocks have a great range of comps for beginers and experienced alike if you look on their website you will see a list of all their dates. I am also a member of northwest fly fishers which meet up once a month at the red bull in kingsley and have a comp each month at different places around northwest and midlands if you want details give me a call 07879 685296 cheers john

Hello Sage15,

Have a look at the link attached and scroll down to the Airflo Bank competition. I think there is a heat at Stocks which would probably be your closest bet. As John says, Stocks has a range of competitions throughout the year.

The Airflo Bank Match is great competition for beginners.

CEFF Confederation of English Fly Fishers

Tight lines.

Jonathan,

Stocks would be my recomendation, without a doubt! Couple of my teammates travel from Crewe, not too sure how close that is to you mind.

They have a Club called the Bowlanders, which makes up a few teams each year, depending on interest mind, but they do tend to have an ear to the ground for new, keen individuals to join their 'cause'. Would be a great way to meet some new people and get your feet planted into comp fishing.

They also have plenty of individual matches for you to try, everything from deadly serious to a bit of light entertainment. But, they are ALL fun and enjoyable comps!

If you want any more info, try their website, and keep your eyes on the Stocks thread in the stillwater updates section on here.

Any more help, please feel free to PM me.

Carl
