Hi Joey,
I think the Rutland incident you recall was during the 'Fry Bash' match, which at the end of the day has a winner, so would be safe to say it's a competition.
However, it isn't a serious match, and no complaints were made about to Chris, the match organiser, it's just not in the spirit of the match, and didn't really cause a problem... However, the thread about it may say otherwise.
Anyways, back to the thread topic, I was under the impression that if there was a match on, then no other anglers, wether boats were spare or not, couldn't or wouldn't be able to fish, therefore can't impede on the competition itself...
I think Jim, 3lbG, may have an answer to it?
Edit: I agree without non competition anglers, places wouldnt survive on competions alone.
Carl

if not its a business at the end of the day and they need to make money so it would be silly to turn business away just because a comp was on!!!!!bit of a bad attitude in my view as if it was not for the pleasure angler these fisheries would not be there as i'm sure the comps are not enough revenue to keep there doors open

I would have thought they, match organisers, would have booked the boats for the World Teams? Therefore, no spares for non competition anglers to impede on the bearing of the match?
