The annual friendly, fundraising competition in aid of the Childrens' Hospice Association Scotland takes place on Tuesday 20th October at the Lake of Menteith.

Normal fishing fees apply (£20 per angler) plus a donation of your choice to CHAS. Sponsor forms are available and anyone who raises £100 will be eligible for a prize draw to win a 54lb thrust top of the range electric motor. Other prizes include a rod for the heaviest bag.

Hi Martin, could you please pass on my apologies to Kevin and the rest of the organisers as i cant make it, no holidays left after a very busy year and i dont fancy going straight from a nightshift then another nightshift that evening. I have managed to get two mates to go in my place. Thoroughly enjoyed it last year with some superb prizes and all done for a very worthy cause, hope everyone has a great day with plenty money raised

Well done to Kevin McCabe for organising this competition. It was a very cold and blustery day but a total of £2853 was raised for CHAS.

Well done also to all the fundraisers, especially Davie Bertram whose efforts made a significant contribution to the total.

Well done also to Jimmy McBride who had the top bag with 15 fish.

unfortunately i couldn,t fish it this year as i was looking forward to it as well
( especially after the 3 liters whiskey i won last year ) but well done to all the people that took part and raised money for charity believe me i know it helps. well done again lads

Hi Changegoose, welcome to the forum. Many of the regulars may not have any holidays left at the end of the season. It is becoming more and more difficult to get all the holidays required for comp fishing as everything is mid week. I am quite sure if this was on at the weekend it would have been better attended. Lucky for you that you got time off, everyone else is not in the same boat and you should bear this in mind before posting about people giving up their time.
