Default Anthems

Just wondering if any of you comp guys have fishing anthems. Or does your fishing team have an anthem.

A favourite song or track that you like to play on the way to a competition. One that gets you going, or in the mood.

Never had one myself until I started fishing in a 6 man team. We were in Wales one year and got seriously drunk the night before a big match. We went to bed at 6am and up for breakfast at 7.30am.

On the way to the Lake, we were all seriously hungover and no one felt like staying awake, never mind fishing 8 hours of comp fishing.

I stuck this track on in the car, and a bit like the "Bohemian Rhapsody" scene in Wayne's World we all started tapping our feet and moving our heads

By the time we got to the Lake we were not just as bad, and we managed to make it to the boats and won our match

So, it's kind of become our anthem. One that brings back very good memories.

Any other looney bins out there.

when i used to fish a lot of matches 6+ years ago i sometimes used to listen to God is a DJ by Faithless ( esp at Rutland .... This is my Church !!) or anything by New Model Army - The Hunt or Vengeance were particular favourites. I have always had eclectic tastes !!

Nice one. "This is my church, this is where I heal my hurts".

:When I had a team thing going in lots of comps, we adopted 'Dirty Old Town' by The Pogues (I think) after a really drunken, non-competitive trip to Ballina in Ireland. That song just stuck. Very random i know, but we all loved it, and even now, years later, if that one comes on in one of our cars on the way to a day out somewhere, it gets us all going.

I would imagine that most team 'anthems' will be as a result of a very drunken trip somewhere.

Our team don't have an anthem as such OO but this year myself and Gazza have had Bryn and Nessa "Islands in the stream" on in the car on the way to comps. Must be a Welsh thing i suppose see if you can patch it up for me?

I'll never look at Gazza the same after this. Can you get him to fish in a Ten Gallon hat next time we are over.

Default Anthems

This was the RK's anthem if you like.... I suppose many anglers were pee'd off listening to this being blurted out in the car park on our car radio's before a major final... All good banter...
