1lb per hour is for kids mate.....it brings the whole field closer together and makes it a lottery.....especially when it's an 8 fish limit !

bring back the good old days of 16 fish limits...that sorted the men out from the boys..

twice this year i've bagged 2 or 3 hours before my boat partner....yet they've copied my tactics and beaten me on weight.....same area, same method.....same flies..

I know i was easily the better angler...yet the 1lb an hour ruins matches...especially when the fish average 2.5lb !

2lb is fair in my opinion, for all concerned

If they 'Have' to have Time bonuses.then 1LB.seems stingy and will not give you much of an advantage
I fished a comp recently where they gave you 1lb for every fish over your limit, the average weight of the fish is 2LB 4oz.
And last year I fished a comp, where the bonus weight was 1LB8oz per fish but the average weight is 10oz.

I agree totally bobster...................

With nymphing.......... you can get 8 of the smallest fish in the lake, it doesn't matter if your in Manton or the basin...... and it's the same the other way round with lures.......... what my concerns here are....... and you've hit the nail on the head............. getting your 8 fish 2-3 hours before others in the same area with similar methods and then being beat but this is a qualifier for the England team
Bring back the 2lb----------- wonder if the international would be changed to eight and one

I think 2lb per hour bonus would be more suitable at Rutland or any water for that matter where the fish are averaging over 2lb each.

The September pairs match is 16 fish and 2lb per hour time bonus!!!!! Should suit you down to the ground but having said that there are some top anglers fishing.

see you soon

why not a smaller limit, say 4 or 6, then C+R with each released fish counting as 2 or 2.5lbs. Also put a cap on big fish - i.e anything over 4 lbs only counts as 4 lbs.

This would ensure that only the people who catch the most fish qualify and nobody sneaks through on a tough day by bagging a monster.

or, have 3 or 4 rounds on a league table type basis with your best 3 days counting (as the welsh team currently do). This system seams to be working for the Welsh if recent results are anything to go by.
