Best of luck to all taking part and particularly to Sean Jones and the Welsh. I know Sean and his family are very proud that he is Captain.

Tight lines.

Congratulations ??? Is that a joke ??

With all the cheating suspisions around the czech victory, I'd rather congratulate all the other countries.

According to the participants from other nations, everything was done to make the local team win.

Right now, many nations try to turn the suspicions into proofs, to blame officaly the czech team.

Not good to hear for cheating going on in any comp but especially disturbing when it is a Youth event. These kids should not be put on a track of expecting favours to get them on with comps.

Can someone elaborate on this?

Getting solid proofs is a though thing, but french federation tries to get testimonies of unfair behaviors.

We haven't seen so many suspicions since the senior world championship in Slovakia and Italy (in the early 90's !!),

For instance :
- recognition of different spots the evening before competition : no activity, not one fish rising. The next day : plenty of rising fish on certain spots (and guess which country was concerned ??). The conclusion was easy : massiv fish stocking on certain spots during the night... not very fair for all the countries.

- a czech angler win day 4 with not less than 61 fish (in 3 hours !!). So than means a fish hooked / netted / unhooked / measured every 3 minutes, even without one mistake (which is impossible) you could'nt do it even in a fish farm !! Many thanks for the czech controller !!

- czech team finished first with 378 fish, other teams like France / Spain / Poland (with pretty good anglers as well) were all with 250 fish on average. Such a difference can't be explained only by a better knowledge of the rivers.

- 1 hour before competition a french angler and his captain are delighted to see some fish rising on the river, then comes the czech captain, he notices the fish activity, than goes off, and 20 mn afterward the nice river turns chocolate due to a water level increase due to the dam upstream. That's a bit of a bad coincidence isn't it ?

- Lots of complains against czech organizers coming from french team, and this isn't our traditionnal bad spirit / complaining behavior (which is often true I admit), just the conviction that everything was made to help the local team win.

Some would say that we are bad loosers but France finished 2nd in Scottland a few weeks ago for the senior's world champ' but that silver medal was well appreciated cos' everything was fair, this one in Czech Republic has a bitter taste.

I assume our talking about sector 5 peg 11.

I was actually drawn on the same peg as this - There was a polish angler drawn on there at the first session who also took 60 fish, when I fished it at the 3rd session I had 46 while the river was running high and coloured due to the rain fall the night before. I belive if the river was in perfect conditions I would have easily had 10 -15 more fish - due to some of the pool being hard to access.

It was no way impossible to catch 61 fish off that peg, after fishing it I am surprised there wasn't an even bigger total come off there!

I had just 18 fish by 11 am - by 12 pm I had a further 28 fish to add to that total! With every very fish measured from 18 - 34cm. So that's what? a fish just over every 2 minutes? Sometimes I would go minutes without catching a fish, find a pod and every cast take a fish, on two occasions 2 at once! Both grayling and brown trout! not stocky rainbows (although there were some rainbows caught).

I don't know the size of the fish your catching but there is no way it takes 3 minutes to play, measure and release a 18-30cm brown, rainbow or grayling when your standing just 3 yards off the bank where the controller is ready and waiting.
