Default World Championships

I've not seen much on the upcoming World Championships so thought I'd kick off a thread.
The best Scotland have done to date is a 4th place in Norway back in the early 90's, but this year should see that eclipsed. I have a feeling in my water that we (Scotland) will be right up there with a fantastic chance of gold. Hopefully this heatwave will relent and let the fish come on to show the world the quality fish and scenery on show this June.
I'm sure all the teams will be champing at the bit to get on the competition waters and hope all lochs perform on the days. Loch Awe is bound to be a beast and Loch Leven will be a sore one for many, especially as it's only 3 hour sessions. I think it will all be won and lost on these 2 lochs where avoiding the blank is everything.
Good luck to the Scots................your time is nigh!!!!

Good luck to all those taking part. Hope it's a fair match with the best team coming out on top. Hope it's fished in the true spirit of game angling and is a great example of how good competition fly fishing can be.

Glad to see Menteith back to its best again. Having fished Leven before, I know it will be a tough venue and like you say, if this weather continues all the venues will be rock hard.

Tightlines

I've a feeling that Loch Awe will be a wee bit harder than rock hard, a fish here will be like gold dust, but what a beautiful loch, scenery second to none.
As to the Lake, yes it's fishing well again but not easy, I wonder how the "river fishing" nations will cope with her?
I think this championship will favour the home nations who understand loch fishing, I'll be suprised if the winners come from further afield.

You're not Oakham, must be the committee boys for the countries or non fishing captains etc.
By the way Jim I'm also controlling on the Loch.

You are allowed out aslong as you dont have a rod in your hand. At one point there were 5 in a boat..............................Come on the Scots, hope you all do well and anyone fishing any of the venues over the next week with any good info let me know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, looking forward to it, nice to be on the other side and able to watch others working hard at trying to catch. Have you heard how the loch is fishing? Last I heard was a few big fish but few and far between, it would be nice to be measuring a few............especially for our boys.
