Default How to get back to competition fishing?

Hi all.

I have a question regarding competition fishing. Many moons ago I did a little competition fishing. Not a great deal, I competed in a Troutmasters final at Draycote, I also fished for the Welsh youth team (1985, see I told you it was a while ago!).

My question is, what is the best route to try to get back into competition fishing? I've continued my fishing every season without fail.

Any pointers/tips would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Stu.

Put yourself in for a trial for one of the senior teams. If you want to mix river and stillwater have a go at the European Championships which normally feature a stillwater session amongst the river sessions and the trials are often on the Dee. If you are a stillwater angler try a trial for the Spring or Autumn Team when they are on Brenig or Traws. You will soon find out how far off the pace you are - maybe not much at all.

was thinking something similar the other day. So could someone please tell me how I apply to take part in the trials for the Welsh Spring / Autumn international and commonwealth teams.

An idiot proof guide would be great if someone has the time.

cheers

If you contact Teuchter on here, he will put you right. He is the current Welsh coach.
