The Winnerweb Challenge is only days away and promises to be one of the most exciting events on the fly fishing calendar. Hywel Morgan is fronting the competition with Winnerweb Limited for what is the UKs largest cash prize in fly fishing. The first of the three heats begin at Blithfield on the 23rd May, followed by Stocks on the 24th May, and Elinor the following Sunday, the 31st May.
Winners from each of the heats will go through to the final at Toft Newton on the 4th July to fight for the chance to land the £2000 prize. With a further prize of £10 per pound for the biggest fish and £300 to the heat winner, this competition is stirring the interest of novice and seasoned anglers alike.
Commenting on the Winnerweb Challenge Hywel Morgan said. I am really excited about this competition. We have some great fisheries and everyone has an equal chance to bag some serious money by winning.
Hywel went on to say. This is one of the top cash prizes in fly-fishing in the UK today and if I wasnt involved with Winnerweb in setting it up I would definitely be competing. We want to make the Winnerweb Challenge a regular part of the fishing calendar and recognised as one of the major events of the season.
Entry for a chance to win £2000 is only £35 with each angler receiving a goody bag worth £40.
