Default New Big Money Comp at Bewl

The new owners are actioning a few changes to improve and promote Bewl.

The good news: a new fleet of Grafham style boats by the end of 2009, the first 10 being delivered mid May.....no more canooing!

Blue trout being stocked to add variety (900 pre season).

Sunday 9th August: Floating line only individuals match at Bewl, drifting boats but not international rules. First Prize circa £1000. More details to follow, the date has only just been set.

Tuesday 2nd June - Bewls first ever Summer evening league starts and for the next 8 Tuesdays, best 6 results count. Circa £1000 first prize!

Personally I think the prize money is a bit excessive, but hey, not my dosh!

Very very happy about the boats, the old ones were a little small for us non midgets!

Maybe some of you non southern blokes will come down and have a go at taking the dough? There will be pre-match beers in the Brown Trout, Lamberhurst on the evening of Saturday 8th August.

Hi BG,
Personally I like the old Bewl boats! They had an added advantage (for those that are used to them) in that they had the ability to scare the **** out of some of my boat partners who were used to the more spacious on board surroundings at the likes of Chew, Rutland and Grafham, especially in a big wind on the dam when life jackets weren't compulsory! Made them think more about getting back to dry land and their loved ones than what fly to put on.
Looking forward to the new comps though - hopefully we'll get a good number of anglers going for the money.
Are you going tonight?
Cheers
Gillaroo

How do you enter this? There is nothing on the Bewl website yet?

Cheers,
Craig
