Talking Fly fishing comps in Ayrshire

Hi, does anyone know of any fly fishing competitions in ayrshire, fisheries, rivers, etc. Only been fishing for a few years and would like to start trying my luck in a few, for experience and fun more than anything!

Many thanks.

alright mate.

have you been into torbets down the town?

if you can join up to the kilmarnock angling club, its not expensive and it gets you access to the river and the Craigendunton Reservoir up by Moscow, my dad used to be on the committee there years ago and i know they have regular river and res comp's, they also used to have fly tying nights in the kilmarnock academy, it used to be on a monday night but may have changed as its years since i was in that club.

Not been in torbets for a while, I used to hold a tiket for the water at hurlford. have been thinking about taking out a ticket for Kilmarnock water for a while now as I would like to try my luck at Craigendunton.

Many thanks!

no worries mate.

the craigendunton is alright, it has 2 lochs, the smaller one at the back being my fav as thats the one with the broonies but watch out for the midge's its really really bad up there for them and i would recommend a head net, you may not look the best but its great for some relief from them coz they are relentless little buggers.

i never really fished the river too much so couldnt tell you about it, we spent most nights at the dunton.
