Water Industry Game Fishing Championships (WIGFiC)

Anyone know who organises this? I'd like to convince my organization to enter.

Ring up Rutland Water 01780-686441 and ask to speak to Paul Shaw or Jon Marshall.

They enter a team every year and know how the event is run, and who to contact regards entry

Deefer,

Paul is certainly a good contact for this event, my understanding is that it is an event that is run for anglers who work in the water industry.

I think that most anglers have to "qualify for the respective water company or EA team though.

I have fished in the last two years events, and have thoroughy enjoyed the general banter and competition.

A good opportunity to experience competition fishing.

Shortass.

Unhappy

Thanks you two, current employer qualifies as a "water industy" body but has been missing from the event for a few years due to most anglers being maggot drowners.... . We have the been invited and have the application form again just hope we find another 5 or 6 who do proper fishing and I might get to see you at Fewston and Swinsty!

I fished it and enjoyed a great day. Really great friendly atmosphere and well organised. I've got to admit that I struggled in the wind. Some of the guys around me were putting out 20 yard lines straight into it though. Quite brilliant to watch and learn from, and their catch returns were rewarded for their extra skills.

Does anyone know where I can find the results?

Hopefully manage to find enough people in British Waterways to join in next year...

Deefer,

This is a water industry game fishing competition held in May each year. It is being held at Pitsford in 2010.

It is organised by Freddie French and I can get him to contact you if you wish.

Regards.

Ivan
