Default Sad State of Affairs

Hi All

Probably not my place to post this but as I doubt anyone else has even noticed I am going to.

No doubt someone will correct me if I am wrong but since Robert Murray recently won the Scottish Rivers Final I have not seen a report or a photo in any of the angling publications. I find this sad because although Robert will have his memories of the event, in future years he will not be able to look back at Trout and Salmon etc. and remember the day or show his grandkids that he wasn't kidding about being Scottish Champion.

To add further insult, as far as I am aware, there is not even a keepsake trophy awarded and worse than that when he opened his presentation bottle of McAllan Malt to fill the cup it had already been opened and a third of it gone. As you would expect with Robert he laughed it off as he also did when we all tasted the whisky which was certainly not McAllan.

Robert is a good mate of mine and apologies to him if he reads this and is embarrassed but he is too nice a guy to kick up a fuss.

If any of the Scottish Rivers committee read this then I hope they can put the wrong right in an appropriate and dignified manner.

Kenny

Very poor show indeed. Its amazing to think someone would have the bad manners to drink the whisky that was a reward for someone that had attained no.1 status in his sport in the country.

If any magazine publication had any sense they would be paying Robert for any interview and getting him to do a breakdown of the day and the tactics he used. That would be something worth reading rather than the usual rubbish!!!!

Robert has attained the respect of his fellow anglers, proving nice guys do win!!!!

A sad state of affairs - who actually runs the competition?

This is a disgraceful exposure of the lack of professionalism within the ruling body for this national competition. I don't know who runs the competition, but they should be brought to book over this. What an insult to the individual, the competition and all Scottish anglers.

Who is the body ruling over this competition?
