Hi guys just wondering are any of you fishing the competition on Sheelin at the weekend. I will be giving it a go though by the looks of the weather we might get blown off it ( what else is new this year ). Tight lines to all competing.

The winner was martin buzzer carney from kildare with a fish near 5 lb ,a lot of fish caught and returned with the 15inch size limit to protect the smaller fish,54 weighed in and you needed a big fish to have a look in.I fish the garda competition on saturday and the heaviest fish was 6lb 12oz cracking fish,its definately a lough on the way back thankfully.

Its great to see Sheelin on the up just as long as the anglers don't start chopping all the trout they catch on the head and then wonder in a few years why there's no fish to catch. Lets hope Sheelin gets the chance to return to its former glory.
