Default International Rules & Scottish Rules?

After receiving my order from SAC yesterday, I found a plastic 'fly guage' buried in the bottom.

To my surprise, I was intreigued (sp?) to see the fly 'tollerances' differentiate from International Rules compared to Scottish Rules?

My question is....... Why the difference, and do the Northeners feel the extra length makes any difference?

Hi Geordiecarl,
Think it may be a Scottish clubs championship gauge you received as we fish international rules for our national, but a larger fly size for the scot clubs/Daily Record Champ of Champs comps I dont know what the reason for this is mate

Just checked mate, aye your bang on the money there, Scottish Club Champs Rules gauge.

But why the difference? Is that a SANA Choice?

Who are 'SAC'?

Is your query one of those that can be solved by a 'tweaking' the hook eye?

NB. Where can I find an on-line copy of the 'International Rules'?
I still haven't found anything that specifies that the boatmen in an International match are responsible for entering the letter B in any released brown trout catch return that is their responsibility?

Has anyone a link?

International Rules is 5/8" Max for Hook Size, and 15/16" for overall dressing.

Scottish Clubs is 3/4" Max for hook size, and 1 1/6" Overall dressing.

Rule 4 under 'match rules'. Different fisheries have different rules and the host country can also apply variations.
Open to challenge at the IFFA Rules meeting on the first practice night but usually accepted by the other countries.
At Traws, B or R had to be entered as different weights (1lb and 1.5lb).
All Browns to be returned (1lb each) but 4 Rainbows kept and weighed, then C&R on them at 1.5lb each. Don't know if fishery rules or applied by Wales.
Boatman marking cards covered at the briefing, card also has to be signed by both anglers and boatman before it is submitted and it should be checked by all before signing. When handed in at weigh-in that is it.

None of this was stated in the above links.

I don't know what a lawyer would think...
