Good Luck Chaps, I fished it last Saturday and to say it was difficult would be an understatement. Lots of follows but very few takers, we had four to the boat in the morning and that was it.

Rutland was rock hard today, best pair had 11 fish and 8 fish would have qualified you.

Charlie and I had a short drift to the right of the boils just off the pack, to see what was occuring, we spotted a nice gap in the pack between W bouy and the orange bouy, whipped around and filled it, first cast from Charlie, straightened his line and was in immediately. I went on to take four fish in that drift alone. Five fish in the boat in the first 45 minutes, we thought we had it sussed.

Then it died. I only had one more fish the whole day, we weighed in 6 fish for just under 14 lbs, another two fish would have seen us through.

Just one of those days!

Tightlines!

Charlie is normally a total fish magnet and definately my first choice for spending a day in the boat with anyday, always plenty of craic and banter.

Just one of those days like I say Colin.

Glad I did the b'stard though

Enjoy it while you can Not a frequent occurence

Actually PP did brilliantly, I am just gutted that in the remaining 7 hours 15 mins we couldn't catch the three fish which was all that was needed to qualify in a very strong field. Given I caught my fish about 20 minutes in, I went more than seven and a half hours without a single pull - I cant remember that ever happening in a boat match before

I also seem to have found a complete selection of blobs in the back of my jacket

Unlucky chaps!! It's obviously not picked up since last weekend. I was thinking about Rutland or Grafham for Wednesday this week, that’s made me mind up, Grafham here we come.
